Al started her bellydance adventures in 1995, studying at local classes, and continuing at festivals, workshops, and events throughout Britain and abroad, where she studied extensively with Egyptian and American dancers. She has been running Jawahir Bellydance since 2005, with some of her students from this time, still dancing with her. She also runs regular workshops in Marlow, and manages three large showcases a year. Along with bellydancing, Al has studied flamenco since 1999, performs American Tribal Bellydance under the guise of Tribal Babylon, and is a qualified aerobics instructor.
